The birth of the island dates back to 150 thousand years ago, after a long history of volcanic eruptions that ended with the major eruption that gave rise to Mount Epomeo, a mythological and bewitching location.
History has it that this place is one of Agarthi’s access points to the underworld, the realm within the Earth described in the works of Willis George Emerson.
We don’t guarantee that you’ll find the mysterious underground entrance, but, along the walk that leads to the top, you will surely find a breathtaking view, where you can take in every part of the island.
The geological history of Ischia has other advantages, like the presence of thermal waters and numerous steam geysers with temperatures that can reach up to 106 degrees centigrade. Or the medical muds, obtained by mixing the thermal water that rises from the depths of the island with the soil, to create a powerful fusion between the elements.
